LifeLine Pilots Represents at NASW Conference

Last week, thousands of social workers from across the country gathered in Chicago for the annual National Association of Social Workers conference (NASW), and LifeLine Pilots was honored to be among them. As the largest professional organization for social workers, NASW advocates for and supports its members. We admire their unwavering commitment, both collective and individual, to guiding people through life’s complex challenges.

At LifeLine Pilots, we believe that we are strongest when we work together helping those in need, and social workers are an important group of professionals we partner with to make our mission possible. For the past 44 years, our LifeLine Pilots mission has remained constant in serving the community by coordinating free air transportation, through volunteer pilots, for people with medical or humanitarian needs far from home. We meet every person where they are on their journey, help when we can, and treat each with equal care, compassion, and understanding.

With our LifeLine Pilots information booth in the NASW conference exhibit hall, we connected with professionals from across the country—from Florida and California to Maine and Washington, and even Hawaii. Their excitement upon discovering a free and unlimited non-emergency travel resource for their patients and clients was genuine. While LifeLine Pilots primarily serves 10 Midwest states, we introduced conference attendees to the world of public benefit aviation. We also explained how LifeLine Pilots is part of a nationwide network of similar organizations who work together to help people access care far from home.

We enjoyed conversations with NASW members in Chicago and look forward to working together to help ensure every person has equal access to transportation for their healthcare needs.
